Flash Dryers

Flash Dryers are characterized by short residence time of few seconds. Hence, great care needs to be taken in dispersion of the feed in the drying air, which is generally in the form of cake so that true surface water gets evaporated form the feed . Otherwise, the larger particles in the feed material may require longer drying time than the smaller ones in order to reach the desired moisture content.

We offer Flash Dryer like two stage flash drying system. This configuration is often used for drying of cellulose pulp.

The process of Flash Drying System:

1. The semi-dried material collected in the cyclone from the first flash dryer stage is dry enough on the surface to avoid clogging of cyclone collector.

2. The initial feed material to be dried in a flash dryer is semi-dried using the spent drying air from the second stage. This semi-dried product is then introduced into the second stage of the flash dryer, where the material is dried by contact with the hottest air.

This configuration of flash dryer is particularly useful for inorganic and organic pigments as well as inorganic products like kaolin and alumina.


Our high quality Agitated Flash Dryers are used to avoid multiple passes of the product through the dryer. In this configuration, the feed material is transferred from an agitated feed tank through a screw feed into a flash-drying chamber provided with a rotor. The rotor continuously exposes wet surfaces from the feed material to make up for the short residence time available for the drying process.
